Gregg's Amaranth

Amaranthus greggii, or Gregg’s Amaranth, is an annual with long, succulent stems and fleshy, deeply veined leaves. Its inconspicuous flowers appear on long, bending stalks. The plant will grow on both the windward and leeward sides of dunes. Its stems often radiate outward over the sand.
