Tidestromia lanuginosa

Wooly tidestromia

Tidestromia lanuginosa, also known as Wooly tidestroma or Espanta vaqueros, is a desert plant common not only in coastal dunes but throughout the southwest. Its silvery green leaves vary from round to oblong and are covered with dense whitish hairs. Its succulent stems are typically red. The distinctive annual forb has a low-sprawling profile and produces minute yellow flowers that lack petals in spring, summer and fall.
