False dandelion, Texas dandelion, Desert chickory

Pyrrhopappus pauciflorus, or False dandelion is sometimes known as Texas dandelion.

Its flower is a distinctive pale yellow with two crowded rows petals with sawtooth tips and a cluster of brown stamens.
