Helianthus debilis

Beach sunflower

The foliage is highly variable.
Helianthus debilis is a native sunflower common on the Texas coast that can become a dense groundcover. Its rich yellow flowers often rise on solitary stems. Small yellow disc florets dot the dark brown head of the flower. The foliage, which appears in whorls, is highly variable in shape.
